Today Smartphone market is very hot and competitive. It continues to gives us leaks, rumors and news about various different devices with unbelievable specs. Many of the device manufacturers such as Apple, Samsung, HTC, LG and Motorola are in the game, introducing innovative technology to compete with each other and make their mark in this Smartphone war.
However, there is one Chinese Smartphone manufacture called “Oppo” and you may not have even heard of this name. But they have manufactured a line of Android Smartphone which will make all the other amazing devices we know look like antique from 20th century. The worlds thinnest Smartphone and worlds thinnest quad core Smartphone are among them.
Today I’m going to take a look at Oppo Find 5, a very unique Android handset. It’s the world’s very first 1080p Full HD Smartphone and It’s under NOG spotlight today.
Specification Spotlight
Design
The phone is having conventional single block design. It has aluminum unibody and thickness is only 6.9 mm. In front face you can see ear piece, front facing camera, large 5 inch display and capacitive buttons. Back panel design is clean and has only camera and speaker. The volume rocker is in left edge and in right edge you can find power button.
Display
The display is 5 inch IPS panel with 1920 x 1080 px resolution which will give it 441 ppi of pixel density. You may have experienced the sharpness (326 ppi) of Apple iPhone 5’s famous retina display. But Oppo Find has 35% better pixel density. This will give you an idea how sharp this display would be.
Processor and Storage
Most of the people might think Oppo Find 5 only has a great display. Stop right there and take a look at its processor and storage.
It has Snapdragon S4 Pro platform configured with Qualcomm APQ8064 chipset, 1.5 GHz Quad Core ARMv7 CPU and Adreno 320 GPU. In processor benchmarking Snapdragon S4 Pro has already kicked out NVidia Tegra 3 and Exynos from competition. So if you think it’s only a nice looking display, it’s not. It’s a powerhouse.
Internal storage of this device is 16 / 32 GB which is pretty much standard and RAM is 2GB. There are very few Smartphone you can find with 2 GB RAM and it will definitely take this device another step forward.
Camera
Oppo Find 5’s greatness is yet to come. Let’s take a look at camera specification. The primary shooter is 12 MP one with LED flash, auto focuses and other standard features. It’s capable of recording 1080p videos. Front facing camera is 2 MP which you can use for self portraits and video calling.
Operating System
So far you came to know many of world’s best hardware configurations in Oppo Find 5. Android Jelly Bean 4.1 completes it. Yes that’s the OS and we already know its strength.
Connectivity
The device supports general connectivity technologies such as GSM, 3G, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS etc. However there are no signs of LTE radio. It’s highly carrier dependent and they might have kept provisions for customization.
Battery Life
The capacity of battery is 2500 mAh and there are no official reports of battery life. Snapdragon S4 Pro processor is famous for its energy efficiency and it’s ever better that NVidia Tegra 3’s 4-PLUS-1 technology. At the same time 1080p display will drain out battery faster. So we can’t expect this device to be any better than a similar caliber Smartphone.
Wrapping Up
The attractions in Oppo Find 5 is it’s super sharp 441 ppi display, Snapdragon S4 Pro platform with “Monster” level configuration and 12 MP camera. Entire hardware system made complete with latest’s and greatest mobile operating system, Android Jelly Bean 4.1. I’m not sure whether I will be able to find any drawbacks in this device (Other than LTE support). Manufacturing quality, hardware and software are at its sweet point.
I was talking about many Smartphone under title “The most powerful”. Apple iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S III, HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy Note II are few of them. Recently I was talking about LG Optimus G with same title as well. But Oppo find 5 dwarf them all in a snap. I believe this powerhouse will hold this crown for longer than usual.
Finally I think time is ripe for Oppo to come out to global Smartphone market. With this greatest technological innovation, they can easily beat all the other competitors and be the best.
